New Reserve Bank of Malawi Kwacha Banknotes for Sale

As promised we keep adding new banknotes for sale to our inventory here on NickyNice.com

This week, we added new banknotes from Africa!  Kwacha banknotes are now for sale under our World Currency section.  To see the new banknotes for sale, click here! Below are just a few of the new Kwacha Banknotes we added for sale.  These beautiful banknotes are authentic currency from Africa and a great addition to any numismatic collection.

The kwacha (/ˈkwætʃə/; ISO 4217: MWK) is the currency of Malawi as of 1971, replacing the Malawian pound. It is divided into 100 tambala. The kwacha replaced other types of currency, namely the UK pound sterling, the South African rand and the Rhodesian dollar, that had previously circulated through the Malawian economy. The exchange rate of the kwacha undergoes fixed periodical adjustments, but since 1994 the exchange rate has floated. In 2005, administrative measures were put in place by Bingu wa Mutharika to peg the exchange rate with other currencies. Banknotes are issued by the Reserve Bank of Malawi. In May 2012, the Reserve Bank of Malawi devalued the kwacha by 34% and unpegged it from the United States dollar.

Burma, officially the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, commonly shortened to Myanmar is a sovereign state in Southeast Asia bordered by Bangladesh, India, China, Laos and Thailand. One third of Burma’s total perimeter of 1,930 kilometres (1,200 miles) forms an uninterrupted coastline along the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. Its capital city is Naypyidaw and its largest city is Yangon.
